Privacy policy

The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) takes website users’ privacy very seriously.  Any information supplied via our website will be handled and stored under the latest provision of the UK Data Protection Act.

The BCI is registered under the UK Data Protection Act, which governs the way in which membership data is used by the Institute.   Under the terms of the Act we are able to supply, to third parties, the list of members’ names and addresses for the purpose of mailing publicity material.  We do, however, give each member the opportunity to opt out of receiving this material.

The BCI also sends regular newsletters via email to members with Institute and industry news. Member contact details are published in the members’ area of the website so that members can contact each other directly. Again, each member is given the opportunity to opt out of these services.

The BCI website does not use persistent tracking cookies of any type and no personal information is obtained or stored using cookies. Some of our web services, such as our log-in section and embedded YouTube videos may place session cookies, which persist only for the length of your visit to the BCI website.
