Netherlands and Belgium Chapter

What are BCI Chapters?

BCI Chapters have been established in countries or regions where there is a large community of BCI members. The Chapters have locally elected officers who represent the BCI in their region.

Would you like to become a member of the BCI?

April 2016 update

The NL Forum Core Team met on 18/4 and went through the status and plans. Minutes to follow on the BCI website. ISO22301 and ISO22313 have been translated to Dutch and all going well printed versions will be available at the BCI Nl/Be Congress & Exhibition on 19 May. There are also interesting speakers and other vendors as well as the opportunity to network with your peers in Nl and Be - you may still register for the Congress and Exhibition. The BCI was interviewed for an article in an insert in Elsevier. Last but not least BCI members qualify for 50% discount for ASIS Security Management Congress 2016 9 June.

March 2016 update

Like all of you, the Chapter members have taken some time off to spend some quality time with their family, friends and relatives and recharge the batteries for another year of challenges and opportunities.  While we are just in mid-February, BCI Forum Be has held their 19th successful forum with 50+ attendees, and we’re already looking at organizing a special edition for the 20th session. BCI Forum Nl also held their first forum of the year (60+ attendees) showcasing some great results from the workgroup on BCM tooling. More on that and another deliverable created in collaboration with the Belgian Federal Crisis committee in a next communication.

After running the successful BCI Forum Nl event Marc van Doorenmaalen notified us that he is no longer able to combine the functions of Chapter Board Member and Chair BCI Forum Nl with his daytime job and has therefore resigned from his BCI functions.

Marc has played a large part in the establishment of the Chapter and the establishment/running of the current BCI Forum Nl and we are sorry to see him resign. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his excellent work for the BCI.

Research programme CISO vs BC Manager

This research programme is looking into a skills comparison between BC managers/Resilience managers and CISO’s and is still open for candidates (BCM consultants can also participate).  This research will look into analogies and differences in the skill sets of both roles, both in business as usual and under a crisis situation.

Participants (2 x 30 minutes of your time will be required to participate) will receive an individual report as a token of appreciation for their contribution.  If we can reach a participation level of 20 Belgian-based BC Managers and 20 Netherlands-based BC Managers then we will have meaningful data which can be presented at our Chapter Conference and exhibition.
