HOW WELL WOULD YOU HANDLE A CRISIS?

What is it? BC24 is the Business Continuity Institute’s online incident simulation game. It is a single scenario game involving a flood, supply chain failure and impending reputational consequences.  The game features six roles, which you can play on your own or with colleagues: BCM Manager, Senior Director, HR Director, IT Director, PR Manager, and Procurement Manager. No prior knowledge of Business Continuity is required.

I’m a business continuity manager, how does BC24 help me? BC24 provides a valuable option in any exercising tool-kit. It removes the requirement for investment in the development of an exercise. It is tried and tested, and well-liked based on the testimonials received. With data from some 2,000 teams, BC24 allows informal benchmarking against many other teams, and it can be supported by less experienced Business Continuity professionals.

I’m not a business continuity manager, how does BC24 help me? BC24 will give you a good understanding of the likely questions you will have to deal with during a crisis and the decisions that will need to be made. It also highlights the impact of decisions made in one part of the organisation on other areas and the need to make decisions quickly. It will take 10-15 minutes of your time to play and you will get feedback at the end of the game.  At the end of the game you can reflect how your own organization would deal with a similar situation.

Five simple steps to play BC24*:

1. Visit the game site here: http://bc24.thebci.org/

2. Select ‘Register’

3. Enter your contact details

4. Name your team and assign yourself to the role that you want to play.  If you are playing with colleagues, then assign them to their roles at the same time.

5. Select ‘Join’ and play the game.  Your colleagues will receive an email inviting them to play BC24 directly. They just need to click the embedded link.  At the end of the game you will receive your score along with feedback.

And if I need help?

Just email us at bc24@thebci.org

Enjoyed the game?

If you enjoyed the game, then why not ask the BCI about buying a licence to play all year round.  Just email bc24@thebci.org for more information.

Click here to download the BC24 User Guide for further details.

*Follow these steps the first time you play.  For any subsequent games, login first, and then set up new games under the ‘manage’ section.
