Personal Summary
I am a highly experienced and motivated business continuity professional with a strong technical background and excellent man-management and inter-personal skills gained through being the business continuity service leader for KPMG where I sold, managed and performed business continuity services to client delivery. At KPMG I managed client facing and internal business continuity teams comprising 20 staff and was responsible for all client related activities.

Extensive experience developing, implementing and testing the business continuity project lifecycle in a variety of industries such as investment banking, insurance, manufacturing, distribution, oil & gas, airline and telecommunications. In addition, I have extensive experience of performing risk assessments and developing computer security policies and procedures. I have twenty years experience as a consultant for Big Five firms.

Work Experience

January 2003 – Present Independent Consultant

I have recently completed an engagement for a bank where I assessed their approach to business continuity, their achievements and making recommendations as to how they can improve various areas to the level of industry best practice.

Completed an engagement for a Japanese bank who required me to perform in excess of 90 business impact assessments. After analysing the data, I developed a GAP analysis between recovery requirements and what their recovery sites could actually provide. The project was challenging as many of the interviewees were front office traders whose time was limited. The project was completed on time. The bank also required me to perform a risk assessment of its current offices and recovery sites highlighting single points of failure.

I have completed a business continuity project for a major London based bank who required me to develop a business continuity framework for their consolidation of London offices project. This project entailed identifying all the business units who would be affected by the moves, identifying their Information Technology requirements and liaising with the IT department to ensure that those facilities would be made available after the move.

I have completed an engagement for Barclaycard where I developed a business continuity framework from which the organisation can implement the required level of incident planning. (I have also performed business continuity management engagements for Link and MBNA).

I have recently completed a project for a major bank in the City where I performed a business continuity engagement for their offshore (India) operation. This project also included a threat assessment of outsourcing their operation offshore.

I have also performed several risk assessments for an insurance company to ascertain their risk in accepting clients with a history of claims. This work involves performing a risk assessment of their clients, analysing the results and presenting a report to the underwriter.

I have performed a business continuity engagement for an International Bank which entailed a complete business continuity lifecycle project for their City operations.
