Members of the Business Continuity Institute are entitled to use the post- nominal designation MBCI

All applicants, whether new applicants or those applying to upgrade their membership, must be currently working in business continuity management, hold the CBCI at “Pass with Merit”* and have knowledge and a minimum of 3 years** working experience across all six*** BCI Certification Standards. * Current AMBCIs and SBCIs who hold the CBCI at “Pass” will need to resit the examination to achieve “Pass with Merit”.

*** formerly 10 Certification Standards. The required skills from the 10 Certification Standards have been retained and mapped against stages of the BCM Lifecycle to ensure consistency of approach.

Once professional application forms have been scored assessed, applicants will be advised if they are considered to have the necessary experience to be offered an MBCI. In some cases if the required grade is not achieved an alternative grade may be offered.
