BSI asks for comments on BS 25999 part two

The British Standards Institution has published a draft version of part two of BS 25999 (the business continuity management British Standard). The draft will be available until 3rd August to allow time for business continuity professionals and other interested parties to comment on the contents of the standard.

BS 25999 part two builds on the already published BS 25999 part one. It specifies requirements for ‘establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, exercising, maintaining and improving a documented business continuity management system (BCMS) within the context of managing an organisation’s overall business risks’. It will be used by internal and external parties, 'including certification bodies, to assess an organisation’s ability to meet its own business continuity needs, as well as any customer, legal or regulatory needs'.
