So… One year on from Lockdown 1, what have we learnt.
Every organisation and individual have had to adapt, learn and think on their feet during this last year.
But one year on, we think it’s time to learn some lessons.
We have 3 main speakers to help us through this.

Mary Mercer is Business Continuity Manager for Riverside Group. Riverside Group transform lives by providing well maintained, good quality affordable housing whilst creating opportunities to increase household income through our programmes of employment, affordable warmth and money advice. Through our housing, care and support services we enable people facing a wide variety of challenging circumstances to lead more resilient and independent lives. We revitalise neighbourhoods by building new homes, creating and maintaining green spaces and bringing people together through our community engagement programmes.

Stu Richards is the Resilience Lead for National Grid - Electricity Transmission.  He is responsible for the development of plans, and delivery of exercises, to ensure Electricity Transmission is well placed to respond to risks to the business.  During his time in the role, he has been involved with a number of responses which challenged ET’s ability to keep the lights on (including floods, fires, power outages, political change and pandemics. Dealing with the pandemic issues are difficult. Imagine changing the power flow to count for everyone working from home, and empty offices. “Keeping the lights on” tells the story.

David West from The BCI will be giving an update and providing Information about Business Continuity Awareness Week.
