The BCI member volunteer community have just elected a new member to the BCI Global Board.

The person elected for a period of 3 years was Luke Bird FBCI who is a volunteer with the BCI Scotland Chapter. He was recently awarded the grade of Fellow of the BCI and was the youngest person to ever receive this.

When he heard about his election Luke said “I’m delighted to be elected! Thank you to everyone who also stood and those who voted for me. The BCI has kindly supported my career from being a student member right through to now. It is through this support that I have been afforded opportunity after opportunity to contribute. I have taken each one in the last 10 years to do this and enjoyed every minute. I want the focus of my contribution with this role to be a highly active community member in the thought leadership space and membership development journey. Let's get to work.”

BCI Chair Tim Janes HonFBCI welcomed the election of Luke and said “I am very happy to hear that the BCI volunteer community has elected Luke to the board. Luke’s contribution to the community in the last few years has been impressive.  2020 is a big year for the BCI and I look forward to the Ideas, energy and commitment Luke will bring to the board, as our newest and youngest director. "

Membership of the BCI board is open to active volunteer Voting Members. If you would like to become active with the institute a list of opportunities are available here.
