As the Government’s trusted provider of training, exercising, and advisory services in all resilience disciplines, the UK Resilience Academy also supports the development of UK national doctrine, guidance, and standards through the identification and promotion of good practice, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Not only did the UK Resilience Academy achieve Certification to the international standard for BCM (ISO 22301:2012) in 2016, but their subject matter experts hold membership and fellowship of The BCI (MCBI & FBCI) and ISO 22301 Lead Auditors.
By following good practice guidelines the UK Resilience Academy helps ensure that even large and complex organizations, as well as across multi-agency partnerships, develop a consistent and coherent approach to organizational resilience. Helen is an award-winning resilience consultant and a Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute (FBCI), with over 20 years of international experience in business resilience, specialising in risk management, crisis management, and business continuity. She has partnered with organizations across the public and private sectors, offering expert consultancy and strategic guidance to enhance their resilience frameworks.
As a qualified trainer, Helen has designed and delivered impactful training programmes both internally and externally, equipping teams with the tools and skills to develop and sustain robust business continuity and organizational resilience strategies.
Helen employs a systems thinking approach, recognising the interconnectedness of processes, people, and technology to build comprehensive and sustainable resilience solutions.
As a dedicated mentor for the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), Helen supports professionals at all stages of their careers, fostering growth and expertise in the field.
A passionate advocate for embedding resilience into organizational culture, Helen has spoken at leading industry events, including BCI World and BCI Education Month. She also contributed to the revision of the BCI Good Practice Guide 7.0, focusing on the Embracing Business Continuity chapter.
