Operational Resilience in Practice – From Strategy to Execution.

Organizations are increasingly navigating a complex and interconnected risk landscape. Challenges such as cyber incidents, supply-chain disruptions, geopolitical uncertainty, technology dependencies, workforce availability, and rising regulatory demands require a shift beyond traditional Business Continuity Management. It’s no longer sufficient to merely have a Business Continuity Plan; the focus must shift to the organization's genuine ability to maintain critical services during disruptions.

The BCI Netherlands Chapter Conference 2026, scheduled for 25 November 2026 at VGZ Headquarters in Arnhem, aims to unite professionals in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Operational Resilience, Security, and related fields under the theme: “Weerbaarheid in de praktijk – Van strategie naar uitvoering.”

This conference emphasizes the practical application of resilience. Through keynote presentations, practitioner experiences, interactive sessions, and specialized tracks, participants will learn how to effectively translate resilience ambitions, frameworks, and regulatory requirements into real-world capabilities.

Key topics will include workforce resilience, third-party dependencies, IT and disaster recovery, insider risk management, crisis leadership, technology, Business Continuity Planning, and the evolution from BCM to Operational Resilience. An interactive workshop will challenge attendees to reflect on the characteristics of an effective BCP, while discussions will explore broader questions around measuring resilience and the competencies needed for future resilience professionals.

Participants will leave with practical insights, lessons learned, and actionable ideas to apply within their organizations. The conference will facilitate exchange among peers facing similar challenges.

With an expected attendance of 60-80 participants, the event is designed to foster interaction rather than just offer presentations. Networking opportunities, including lunch and a walking dinner, will allow attendees to connect with fellow professionals, speakers, and BCI Netherlands Chapter members.
