BCI offers mentoring as a value-added benefit for BCI Certified and Non-Certified Members to support their professional development and career advancement. BCI Mentoring, delivered through PushFar software, offers automatic mentor matching, progress tracking, and one-on-one connections.
BCI Standard Mentoring supports the professional growth and development of professionals/practitioners in the field of business continuity and resilience. It is based on the idea of Members supporting one another and recognising the vast knowledge available within the BCI Community. BCI Standard Mentoring is aligned with the BCI Competency Framework, which helps mentors provide tailored guidance and assistance in areas where they have expertise.
Within BCI Reverse Mentoring, experienced members receive guidance and feedback from less experienced members, often younger individuals with specific expertise. It transcends age, involving industry newcomers with unique skills. BCI Reverse Mentoring stands out by enabling knowledge exchange across diverse fields and cultures. This approach underscores cultural change, digital skill development, and diversity promotion in the industry.
If you are currently a MBCI or FBCI (including those with Honors), you are eligible to become a BCI Mentor. Volunteering as a mentor means offering support and guidance to other BCI Members. As a mentor, you serve as a role model, motivator, and sounding board for your mentee. Within the BCI Mentoring platform (PushFar) you will have access to various bite-sized video guides that cover effective mentoring techniques, what's needed, and the necessary steps to take.
Working with a mentor can help you navigate your career path, enhance your skillset, and gain a clear understanding of your own strengths and weaknesses. This guidance can be particularly valuable in identifying the most important skills to develop within the industry.
