News - BCI North East England Chapter Meeting 2026.jpg

It was a real pleasure to lead my first meeting, introduce the Committee, and share our aims and objectives for the Chapter, as well as bring so many members together for such an informative and hands-on session focused on exercising.

I'd like to thank our speakers:

  • Rachel Mitchell and Victoria Crennell - Their session exploring the differences between exercising, assurance and validation prompted some really useful discussion and the importance of demonstrating meaningful outcomes from our exercise programmes. I'd love to continue the discussion with all members in our LinkedIn group - so keep an eye out for this and please join in with your thoughts and experiences.
  • David Thorp - It was great to hear the latest updates on the BCI’s strategy, Mini GPGs, and plans for the BCI World conferences.
  • Ryan Taylor and Bryan Hurcomb - The facilitated exercise led by DCR Partners brought a real practical edge to the day. Working through a complex and multi scenario exercise, with everyone actively involved, created a great opportunity to share learning and reflect on exercise delivery methods and maturity.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet, catch up and chat, and everyone's willingness to share, challenge and support each other - a key aim of bringing our local community together.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, Noggin, for making this meeting possible, and at such a fantastic venue!

Events like this don’t happen without the effort of those behind the scenes, so a big thank you to the Committee for organising and supporting the session.

We’ll be starting to plan the next Chapter event soon, so keep an eye out in the Chapter LinkedIn group for updates.

In the meantime, let’s keep the conversations going.

We look forward to welcoming you again at our future events.

Best Wishes,

Jenny Wilkinson MBCI

Leader, BCI North East England Chapter
