Resilience Challenges and Strategies Around the World: The South America Experience. Part 1/2
Foreword:
The next instalment in our global resilience challenges and strategies series turns to South America. Drawing on interviews with resilience practitioners from across the region, we examine resilience priorities and mitigation techniques shaping the continent. In this first article, we explore how organisations are responding to the impacts of cyber and climate risks and what specific mitigations practitioners suggest to protect organizations in the region. In part two, we examine the resilience challenges posed by supply chain disruption and geopolitical developments, and the strategies organizations are adopting to strengthen their ability to withstand and adapt to these pressures.
While South America’s countries present their own distinct political, economic, and environmental situations, many of the challenges identified by practitioners echo those seen elsewhere around the world. The top four key challenges emerging from the research are cyber threats, climate-related risks, supply chain disruption, and geopolitical uncertainty.
Over the coming months we will share further practitioner insights from the Middle East, Asia and Africa to provide a global perspective.
