Let me welcome you to the Next Generation Network (NGN).
Ever since joining the BCI in early 2020 it was evident to me that the power of the BCI community was the connections, peer-support and professional insights one could reach from wherever they are in the world. It truly was the best way to learn about the newest developments and industry shaping solutions from the pioneers everywhere in the world, but also to engage with other like-minded individuals who were dealing with similar issues in the industry.
We all know the concrete importance of networks for any career, and especially when working in a field that deals with the rapid changes and developments in our surroundings and operating environments. It is therefore crucial for us as resilience professionals to stay on top of the developments and to keep up with the latest good practices within the field, even as a newcomer to the industry.
When facing the unknown, it’s best to do it when you have someone to help you that may have experienced something similar!

For a newcomer to the industry, it might feel like a big effort to start forming new connections with experienced professionals who have years behind them, and to gain a foothold within the large existing networks, which is one of the reasons the NGN was established.
The BCI has so much to offer members across the world in every age group and those still figuring out which career path to take. I find it crucial to ensure that even these youngest and freshest to the industry have a chance to connect with like-minded peers at the start of their resilience career.
The NGN is a launchpad for anyone new to the field who is even the slightest bit interested in the world of resilience and wants to see what it is all about. It provides a platform for peer-to-peer support, engagement and networking, and makes sure that all voices and experiences are heard and shared.
The NGN is shaping the world of resilience for the future industry leaders and enabling the next generation to step into what the world of resilience and the BCI has to offer.
