In our ever-evolving world where climate events are increasingly unpredictable, typical risk management frameworks often fall short, especially when we think we have checked all the boxes.

This session will challenge process owners, risk, resilience & business continuity managers to look beyond their existing models, playbooks, assumptions, and historical data to identify blind spots, single points of failures, over-confident blue prints and overlooked vulnerabilities.

We will explore unconventional scenarios, cascading effects, and “black swan” climate events that are easy to forget but can have massive operational, financial, and societal impacts. Through interactive discussion and scenario exercises, participants will learn how to anticipate the unanticipated and embed resilience in both strategy and execution.

Expected Outcomes:

  1. Think outside the BOX Challenge!
  2.  Expand Risk Awareness: Recognise the limitations of traditional climate risk models and identify potential blind spots/single points of failures.
  3. Scenario Innovation: Develop the ability to imagine and plan for unlikely but high-impact climate events.
  4. Systemic Thinking: Understand cascading effects across operations, supply chains, and communities.
  5. Actionable Resilience: Translate creative risk insights into practical strategies for mitigation and adaptation.
  6. Memory Triggers: Equip participants with mental frameworks to recall overlooked risks in planning and reporting.

By the end of this session, participants will leave not just with a refreshed understanding of climate risk, but with concrete strategies to anticipate and act on both risks and cloned risks they didn’t even know they had while planning and responding to climate risk.

We look forward to welcoming you!
