“Think You Are Resilient? Well, Think Again!”
Dates: 18–22 May 2026
Business Continuity and Resilience Awareness Week (BCAW+R) is The BCI’s annual campaign that equips professionals and organizations with practical tools to raise internal awareness and strengthen organizational resilience.
In 2026, we’re issuing a wake-up call: resilience isn’t a static checklist - it’s a living capability that must be challenged, tested, and evolved. Across five days, we’ll spotlight the assumptions that often hide gaps in preparedness - then provide actionable guidance to close them.
Daily Themes & Focus
18 May:“Think you’re safe from modern threats? Think again!”
Hybrid warfare isn’t just military - it's cyber-attacks, disinformation, economic pressure, and supply chain exploitation that slip past traditional security.
Focus: Why oldschool plans aren’t enough and how to prepare smarter, faster, and more proactively.
19 May: “Think your crisis drills make you ready? Think again!”
Scenario planning and tabletop exercises are useful, but they can create false confidence. Real crises move faster and hit harder.
Focus: How to stresstest plans and build flexibility so your organization can adapt when the unexpected happens.
20 May: “Think you’ve planned for climate risks? Think again!”
Climate change is already disrupting operations, supply chains, and regulatory landscapes.
Focus: How climate risks act as a multiplier and the steps to make resilience plans genuinely climateready.
21 May: “Think external shocks stay external? Think again!”
Geopolitics, supplier failures, and disasters don’t stay outside your walls—they ripple through networks and hit home fast.
Focus: How to spot hidden dependencies and strengthen resilience across your entire ecosystem.
22 May: “Think your leadership culture can handle crisis? Think again!”
In disruption, rigid leadership fails. Resilient leaders adapt, communicate clearly, and build trust under pressure.
Focus: What agile, “antifragile” leadership looks like and how to build a culture that thrives in uncertainty.
