BCAW+R 2026

Think You're Resilient? Well, Think Again.

Business Continuity & Resilience Awareness Week (BCAW+R) is the BCI's annual campaign equipping professionals and organizations with practical tools to raise internal awareness and strengthen organizational resilience.

18–22 May 2026 | Global | Online | Free to Attend

In 2026, we're issuing a wake-up call: resilience isn't a static checklist; it's a living capability that must be challenged, tested, and evolved. Across five days, we'll spotlight the assumptions that often hide the most dangerous gaps in preparedness, then provide actionable guidance to close them.

BCAW+R 2026 - Think You're Resilient? Think Again

Five Days. Five Assumptions to Challenge.

18 May: "Think you're safe from modern threats? Think again!"

Hybrid warfare isn't just military — it's cyber-attacks, disinformation, economic pressure, and supply chain exploitation that slip past traditional security.
Focus: Why old-school plans aren't enough and how to prepare smarter, faster, and more proactively.

19 May: "Think your crisis drills make you ready? Think again!"

Scenario planning and tabletop exercises are useful, but they can create false confidence. Real crises move faster and hit harder than any rehearsal.
Focus: How to stress-test plans and build flexibility so your organisation can adapt when the unexpected happens.

20 May: "Think you've planned for climate risks? Think again!"

Climate change is already disrupting operations, supply chains, and regulatory landscapes, not a future problem, a present one.
Focus: How climate risks act as a multiplier and the steps to make resilience plans genuinely climate-ready.

21 May: "Think external shocks stay external? Think again!"

Geopolitics, supplier failures, and disasters don't stay outside your walls, they ripple through networks and hit home fast.
Focus: How to spot hidden dependencies and strengthen resilience across your entire ecosystem.

22 May: "Think your leadership culture can handle crisis? Think again!"

In disruption, rigid leadership fails. Resilient leaders adapt, communicate clearly, and build trust under pressure.
Focus: What agile, "antifragile" leadership looks like and how to build a culture that thrives in uncertainty.

Hear It From the People Behind It

Watch the campaign teaser and hear from BCI Executive Director David Thorp, then read what past contributors have said.

David Thorp, Executive Director, BCI

David reflects on 25 years of BCAW, what "resilience" really demands of organisations in 2026, and how this campaign aims to be the most impactful yet.

A timeline of BCAW topics throughout the campaign's 25 years (2001 - 2026)

  • BCAW represents an opportunity for the profession to reflect on how far it has come. From the early days when continuity planning was often viewed as an IT exercise, to today’s integrated approach to organizational resilience

  • Promoting BCAW each year was a satisfying experience as I always seek opportunities to raise visibility both for the profession I love, and for the BCI as the leading association for continuity and resilience.

  • To anyone considering contributing for the first time, my advice is simple: share your experience honestly. The value of BCAW lies not in perfect answers, but in authentic perspectives that help the community learn and grow together.

  • Being involved in BCAW has significantly increased my professional visibility and, more importantly, has encouraged me to continuously improve and challenge myself. It has pushed me to explore alternative and sometimes unconventional viewpoints

A Quarter Century of Resilience in Action

What began in 2001 as a focused effort to raise awareness about business continuity has grown into a global movement bringing together hundreds of resilience professionals every year.

Twenty-five years have taught us that the organizations which survive aren't the ones resting on their laurels. They're the ones constantly questioning, adapting, and willing to hear "well, think again."

We're marking this milestone the way resilience professionals should — by challenging ourselves. BCAW+R 2026 honours our history by refusing to rest on it.
