BCI Global Awards 2025 Winner Spotlight: Doniella McKoy
The BCI is proud to acknowledge that the 2025 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Ally / Champion of the Year is Doniella McKoy. This award recognises an individual’s work in leading, sponsoring or championing the progress of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within the resilience sector.
Doniella displays a diverse range of multi-strand commitment towards DEI, alongside a tangible passion for promoting continuity and resilience with a drive for inclusivity.
As a global DEI advocate, she founded the Global Resilience Exchange and mentorship programme, creating pathways for underrepresented professionals worldwide. Through initiatives like Continuity Coffee and Chat she has connected professionals across over a dozen countries, and her mentorship programme supports over 45 individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them build skills, confidence, and pathways to leadership.
The judges also noted that she is known for elevating DEI conversations at major conferences, embedding inclusive practices into resilience planning and organizational exercises, mentoring diverse professionals, and inspiring early-career students to pursue leadership roles in business continuity and resilience.
As a guest speaker for the Passion to Profession programme at Mercy University, she also introduced minority middle and high school students to business continuity and resilience as viable and rewarding career paths.
The judges said: ‘Doniella McKoy displayed passion and commitment through her initiative in founding The Global Resilience Exchange which allows participants globally to share ideas and communicate about issues surrounding business continuity. Her emphasis on mentorship, particularly for those who are underrepresented, promotes DEI both among her organization and on a global scale.
‘Doniella’s belief that everyone should have the opportunity to lead and thrive has been demonstrated through various DEI initiatives in the wider business continuity profession, including The Global Resilience Exchange Mentorship Programme and Continuity Coffee and Chat.’
