Robert Pratten, CEO at Conducttr crisis simulation platform, shares some interesting insights on how to train and be prepared for any sort of disinformation campaign or reputational risk.

As part of BCI World Horizons 2021, Conducttr CEO’s participated as a speaker in the Emergency planning/exercising & crisis management stream of the conference. With reference to simulations he has built for security & defence clients, Pratten explained how to design & build an immersive information environment and run exercises that require the training audience to manage and track situational awareness and take decisive action such as counter-terrorism exercises and coordinated activist attacks on brands.

The three main takeaways of his keynote were:

  1. Risk mitigation requires an understanding of the narratives that impact your organisation
  2. Understanding the factions that propagate adverse narratives will help you prepare to counter them
  3. Information domain risks will become real-world threats if left unchecked

In summary, Pratten analysed in just twelve minutes how digital activism is a risk any Business Continuity professional should exercise for.
