The Beginner's Roadmap to Business Continuity & Resilience Journey

Where do you start when building a Business Continuity Management (BCM) System from scratch? This session offers a practical, step-by-step introduction to establishing the foundations of BCM and building organisational resilience.

Drawing on Corpay Brazil's own implementation journey, we'll walk through the four core phases of the GCN (Gestão de Continuidade de Negócios) cycle:

  • BIA – understanding the organisation
  • Policy & Strategy – determining the right approach
  • Development & Implementation – including BCP and DRP
  • Testing – exercising, maintaining and reviewing the system

For each phase, we'll cover the real barriers encountered, the benefits realised, and the tools, documents and best practice recommendations that helped along the way — giving attendees a practical starting point for their own resilience journey.

    Senior IT professional with over 40 years of experience in Information Technology, Project Management, Infrastructure Services, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Organizational Transformation. Graduated in Computer Science from UNICAMP and postgraduate in Psychology from PUC, with a proven track record leading strategic initiatives in multinational and national organizations. Certified PMP (Project Management Professional), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Lean Kanban Practitioner, Six Sigma Black Belt, and ITIL Foundation professional. Extensive experience implementing PMOs, managing enterprise projects, developing business resilience strategies, coordinating disaster recovery programs, and leading multidisciplinary teams. Currently focused on Business Continuity Management (BCM), IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP), Crisis Management, Operational Resilience, and Critical Infrastructure Recovery for mission-critical environments.
