Few professionals begin their careers intending to work in Business Continuity Management. Many discover the profession through emergency management, IT, operations, risk, security, audit or other business functions, often by chance rather than by design.

In this session, Gary Ng shares his own journey into BCM and reflects on the lessons learned along the way. Through practical experiences spanning the public and private sectors, participants will discover how the CBCI provided a solid professional foundation, why continuous learning and BCI Membership matter, and how diverse experiences can contribute to a successful career in organisational resilience.

Designed for newcomers and aspiring practitioners, this session also provides practical guidance on taking the first steps into the profession, understanding the BCI learning pathway, and building a meaningful and rewarding career in Business Continuity.

We look forward to seeing you!
