The BCI is delighted to have given the Continuity & Resilience Volunteer 2025 award to Margaret J. Millett.

This is an award to recognise an individual based on selfless, significant voluntary contributions to the continuity and resilience community.

Through her tireless efforts, Margaret exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism, continually contributing to the growth and evolution of the BC and resilience community. She has 30+ years of experience in the continuity & resilience industry and was presented with 2025’s award due to her extensive voluntary contributions across organizations, institutions, and universities worldwide.

Margaret’s contributions to the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) include serving as a member and vice chair of the Women in Resilience (WiR) SIG and speaking at events such as Business Continuity Awareness Week, Education Month, and the World Conference, Margaret has served as a BCI regional and global awards judge and shares her expertise in the wider resilience community, speaking regularly on a worldwide scale.  Margaret serves on advisory boards for resilience organizations, and her mentoring efforts have guided eight global mentees, reflecting her dedication to developing future leaders. She has contributed over 200 voluntary hours to mentoring alone in the past year.

The judges were impressed with her contributions saying “There is clear evidence of voluntary contributions over a 12-month period…with tangible results. A clear and unmistaken passion based on professional competency and voluntary contributions that have made a real difference”.

“Margaret has demonstrated unmatched dedication to the global continuity and resilience community through her extensive voluntary contributions…Margaret shares her insights to inspire and empower others.”

This award means Margaret is also inducted into the Hall if Fame, which happens when an awardee wins the same category three times. Margaret previously won Continuity & Resilience Volunteer at the Americas awards in 2022, so together with the 2025 Americas win and 2025 Global win that made three. She also won BCI Lifetime Achievement award in 2023.
