BCI Global Awards 2025 Winner Spotlight: Rob Cooke
The BCI are proud to recognise Rob Cooke as Continuity and Resilience Consultant of the Year. This award recognises an individual with deep expertise who has demonstrably strengthened organizational resilience for their clients.
Rob has supported organisations across utilities, finance, and healthcare helping them embed practical, fit-for-purpose resilience that works in the real world. His aim is to work directly with the people who need to use solutions, whether that entails running workshops, challenging assumptions, simplifying complex problems, or writing training courses. His focus is on helping clients build confidence and resilience muscle memory.
In 2024, he launched Beacon Resilience & Continuity, offering independent resilience consultancy built on those same principles.
He has also contributed at industry level, authoring the BCI’s Introduction to Operational Resilience course and delivering it as an approved BCI Instructor.
One of the testimonials noted: ‘Rob brought keen technical expertise and demonstrated outstanding professionalism and flexibility throughout. During the execution, his impactful feedback and support were instrumental in driving success.’
Another commented: ‘His thorough approach and deep understanding of operational resilience significantly enhanced our project's effectiveness. Rob's insights helped us identify critical areas for improvement, ensuring that our client’s technology infrastructure was robust and aligned with their strategic and regulatory objectives. His contribution has been a key factor in the success of our engagement.’
The judges concurred, saying, ‘Rob’s work came across as authentic and people-focused, with clear evidence of practical innovation and long-term impact. His approach felt genuine and added broader value beyond compliance…he used different clients from his background to provide evidence to answer the questions, rather than relying on the same one.
‘Rob showed what a consultant should do: consult, listen to the client, and design a solution to solve the problem at hand to their satisfaction, and displayed the qualities that are vital to a consultant’s success that cannot be taught - compassion, caring, and commitment.’
