Thunderstorms cause mass flooding in London

Torrential rain has left parts of London partially submerged in flood waters affecting hospitals, businesses and public transport
London has been hit by flash floods following torrential rainfall on Sunday evening (25th July).
The London Fire Brigade recently tweeted they have received over 1000 calls today to flooding incidents where their crew assisted in rescuing people from their homes and cars.
On Sunday, they answered reports of flooding in properties where ceilings had collapsed.
Roads and motorways were submerged in water leaving drivers and cars stranded. Many sections of the motorway are now closed.
Reports of up to eight underground stations have seen closures affecting Hackney Wick, Kennington Underground and Pudding Mill Lane Tube station in the East of London where the station has been completely evacuated.
Ambulances and Hospitals also reported issues within their emergency departments due to heavy rains.
The Guardian reported Whipps Cross hospital in East London was diverting ambulances away from the hospital while appointments and surgeries were cancelled.
The Met office have issued flood warnings for the rest of the week with thundery showers and heavy rains in the South East.
