The BCI Women in Resilience (WiR) Special Interest Group (SIG) is delighted to invite you to our next hybrid event on Thursday, 19 March 2026, in celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month.

After this year’s powerful discussions on allyship, leadership, and the strength of community, we are excited to continue the journey with our 2026 theme:

    Amanda King

    Mandy has 30 years of policing experience across a range of disciplines, initially specialising in Intelligence, before changing her focus to Counter Terrorism and Protective Security.

    A trained CT Security Advisor and CT Security Coordinator, Mandy took a pivotal role in both Operations London Bridge and Golden Orb and exited policing as Head of the National Counter Terrorism Security Office. She recently joined Tesco as Group Head of Business Resilience.

    Mandy was also actively involved in inclusivity, diversity and engagement initiatives within the police service, as well as being a mentor and an assessor.

    James is a senior operational leader and leadership consultant with over 20 years’ experience in high pressure environments. Alongside his role with Red One, he is passionate about advancing inclusive leadership, psychological safety, and meaningful allyship. His work focuses on helping leaders create cultures where women feel heard, supported, and able to thrive.

    John Frost Hon. MBCI

    John Frost is a highly respected figure in the field of business continuity, incident & crisis management and organisational resilience, holding the honorary designation of Member of the Business Continuity Institute (Hon. MBCI).

    With a career spanning over 15 years, John has consistently demonstrated leadership in helping organisations prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events.

    His industry achievements & collaboration have been consistently acknowledged by both the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) & Continuity Insurance & Risk (CIR) along with Government Agencies such as Counter Terrorism Policing over the last decade.

    John has worked across multiple sectors in his capacity as Chairperson of the Retail Business Continuity Association (RBCA), Deputy Chair of the Counter Terrorism Business Information Exchange (CTBIE) and Advisory Roles with Counter Terrorism Policing & Homeland Securities (Home Office)

    He has contributed to national and international resilience initiatives and regularly supports organisations in aligning with standards such as ISO 22301 and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) guidance. His work has helped shape robust continuity frameworks that protect People, Reputation, Assets, Infrastructure and Revenue.

    John is also a passionate advocate for inclusive resilience, actively promoting equality in the industry, working alongside his team and the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) to support the establishing of the Women in Resilience (WIR) group at its honorary event in 2019. Whilst also having the privilege of managing supporting & mentoring 5 women in resilience to become Industry Newcomers of the Year between 2016 & 2023.

    Morgan Macdonald MSc, MA, GMBPsS

    Morgan MacDonald is the Global Health Advisor for Wellness & Mental Health at International SOS. Based in London, Morgan leads the development of mental health and wellbeing strategies focusing on evidenced, culturally informed solutions that strengthen organisational resilience and employee wellbeing. Morgan’s expertise includes workplace wellbeing, crisis response, psychometric assessments, leadership coaching, and strategic programme development—all underpinned by a strong commitment to improving access and outcomes for mental health support.

    Prior to joining International SOS, Morgan led the implementation of holistic wellbeing strategies across Trust and Safety Operations focusing on risk reduction, stakeholder engagement, data-informed interventions, and transforming organisational approaches to mental health.

    Morgan has also worked as an independent Organisational Psychology Consultant and has held leadership roles at Save the Children, including Head of Corporate Programme Management and within Emergency Health. She has designed and delivered large-scale health and wellbeing initiatives in over 35 countries, partnering with global organisations such as the World Bank, DFID, GSK, RB and Unilever.

    Morgan holds an MSc in Organisational Psychology from the University of London and an MA in Psychology from the University of Calgary, Canada. She is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society. In addition to her professional qualifications, Morgan speaks fluent Spanish and conversational French, and she is a certified pilot.
