The BCI Launches Second Installment of White Paper Series on EDI and Resilience

The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) is pleased to announce the release of the second white paper in its ongoing series exploring the intersection of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and organizational resilience. Titled “EDI in Resilience: Benefits for Organizational Resilience”, this publication highlights the profession’s continuing journey toward recognizing EDI as a practical enabler of resilience.
Building on the foundation laid by the first white paper—which captured insights from BCI members and resilience professionals worldwide—this new edition reflects growing confidence in the role EDI plays in strengthening resilience. Majority of respondents indicating that EDI significantly or moderately contributes to resilience, the BCI acknowledges EDI as a meaningful factor in enhancing organizational adaptability and responsiveness.
This second white paper underscores the practical benefits of embedding inclusive and equitable practices within resilience strategies. It explores how attention to EDI can support innovation, broaden perspectives in risk identification, and improve the overall effectiveness of resilience planning across diverse sectors and contexts. David Thorp, Executive Director, The BCI said:
“It was clear from the initial white paper that, although there are dissenting voices, the majority of BCI members are supportive of EDI and see it as bringing positive benefits to organizational resilience. In fact, 70% of respondents to the survey for this white paper series say that EDI contributes significantly or moderately to overall organizational resilience.”
“EDI in Resilience: Benefits for Organizational Resilience” is now available to download from the BCI website. It provides essential insights for resilience professionals, senior leaders, and organizations committed to embedding inclusive values into their resilience frameworks.
