  • Ewan Donald

    Principal Consultant

A passionate and enthusiastic Business Continuity professional and Member of the BCI (MBCI), I have extensive experience of working with complex global organisations to help them prepare for, respond to and recover from disruptive incidents.

I began my career working for a provider of response services to clients in the energy, aviation and maritime industries. Beginning in a graduate role, I worked up to the role of  Response Manager, where I was responsible for operations from a 24/7/365 Incident Management Centre. This included the management of 6 full-time Control Room staff, as well as the training and exercising of around 60 Incident Management Team personnel.

I then spent several years as the Principal Consultant at PlanB Consulting, one of the leading independent Business Continuity consultancies in Europe. During this time I travelled globally, leading projects for clients in a range of industries across the UK and Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. In this role I was also responsible for the line management of 7 Consultants, including overseeing their training and development; I developed and implemented a training programme for Graduate consultants in order to give all a solid grounding in the full BC lifeycle and related disciplines. Whilst at PlanB I became a Member of the BCI (MBC) and a BCI-approved tutor, delivering the BCI Good Practice Guidelines, BIA, BC Plan and Incident Management courses to clients across the UK and Europe. I was also awarded the Adviser of the Year at the 2018 CIR Magazine Awards.

Since 2019 I have worked in the energy industry, advising an international client on matters relating to Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Security. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked as part of a team to develop and implement a set of procedures for the identification, treatment and evacuation of personnel with COVID-19 symptoms from remote offshore installations, and was both team leader and member in several live incidents.
