In this webinar, we’ll explore key strategies for effective incident management within high-performing teams. Whether you’re stepping into an existing role or leading a team through a maturity journey, understanding the nuances of incident response is crucial.

Here are the main points we’ll cover:

  • Framework Shift and Maturity Journey:
    • Joining a high-performing team on their maturity journey.
    • Adapting to changes in frameworks and processes.
  • Mindset and Communication:
    • Creating a safe environment for team members to voice concerns.
    • Clarifying roles within the Incident Management Team (IMT).
    • Bridging the gap between technical language and management terminology.
  • Incident Identification and Workforce Maturity:
    • Recognizing that increased incident reports don’t necessarily indicate poor technology.
    • A maturing workforce becomes adept at identifying issues.
  • Learning from Incidents:
    • Prioritizing the right actions post-incident.
    • Ensuring the right people are involved in the IMT.
    • Timing considerations for effective resolution.
  • Management-Centric Post-Incident Review:
    • Focusing on management aspects rather than just technical fixes.
    • Long-term follow-up and continuous improvement.
  • Playbook Enhancements:
    • Incorporating lessons learned into the playbook.
    • Defining clear incident types and escalation procedures

    Risk Specialist, The Collective Energy

Originally from the UK, I made my start in bar and nightclub management and moved into event management when I got too old to be awake at 4 am.

After working for a consulting firm while travelling in Australia, I found out I'm actually a nerd and that's where my risk career began. In New Zealand, I've worked in consulting and the public sector before moving into the energy industry with The Energy Collective, an electricity and telco retailer. My focus is always on increasing risk maturity and business resilience by taking out the jargon and making it practical for people to engage with.

Outside of work I'm a keen hiker and trying to rock climb although currently at the 'dangling with dignity' stage of learning. I also have a completely normal and healthy love of the Eurovision Song Contest.
