Join us for the launch of the BCI Continuity & Resilience Report 2023, sponsored by Riskonnect. 

This comprehensive and detailed report aims to highlight how business continuity and resilience are perceived within organizations, their place within organizational structures, and how the roles and responsibilities of business continuity and resilience professionals are developing and expanding, as well as considering the challenges brought about by new working environments.

    Robert Wickes

    Resilience manager, Norhtumbria University, UK

    Having assumed the role of resilience manager at Northumbria University, Newcastle, Robert brings with him a wealth of experience. Preceding his tenure at the university, Robert dedicated 5 years to The Auckland Project in County Durham, juggling various responsibilities including business continuity alongside others. With a robust military background, Robert served in the British Army (Infantry) for an extensive 34-year period, undertaking diverse assignments globally and participating in operations spanning Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. These deployments provided him with invaluable expertise in orchestrating comprehensive strategies for preempting, responding to, and effectively overseeing a spectrum of incidents and disturbances. A staunch proponent of the lessons learned approach, Robert places great emphasis on perpetually refining and foreseeing as cornerstones for building resilience.

  • Bashni Naidoo

    IT governance and risk manager, Sun international, South Africa

    Bashni is an adept Business Continuity Manager boasting a background in Insurance, Gaming, and Hospitality. She proficiently manages IT Governance & Risk and manages strategy and execution. Notably skilled in implementing BCM, Disaster Recovery, and IT Risk frameworks, including crisis simulations, policies, and standards, she has expertise in planning for unpredicted events, enhancing resiliency through exercising, training and cultivating a proactive approach to risk. ~

    Qualification includes the Management Advanced Program, (MAP) from Witwatersrand Business School (WITS), Bachelor of Commerce degree, BCM Certification from University of South Africa (UNISA) and a CBCI, MBCI accreditation with merit from the Business Continuity Institute in London (BCI). I have a BBA Honours (Cum Laude) and am also a certified Lead Implementer (PECB) for ISO 22301 and COBIT certified. 
     
    I am always ready to take on a new challenge, even if I don’t know what to do, it’s a good way to learn new things.  I am an extrovert, self driven, recognised for robust project management , organisational, time management and negotiation capabilities. I am authentic and I love to read and cook, so my happy place is the kitchen!
