This webinar will provide an overview of the third Professional Practice (PP3), which contains the two techniques for analysing business continuity requirements: the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and the Risk Assessment (RA).

This webinar will also briefly cover the differences between the GPG 2018 and the GPG Edition 7.0.

    Wasim Jamil Malik FBCI

    Director

    Wasim Wasim Malik has over 25 years’ experience in GRC, Business Resilience and Risk Management across the globe including Australia, New Zealand, UK, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE and India. A big advocate that ESG and resilience has too much in common and risk and resilience professionals must plan and integrate ESG into their resilience and risk management plans. Wasim is currently working as a Principal Consultant GRC in CyberCX. Wasim Malik has worked previously for major banks and consulting companies; and implemented GRC and Business continuity programs successfully adopting PAS56, BS25999 and ISO22301. Wasim has won multiple awards including two BCI Australasian awards and one BCI Global award and then inducted in the BCI Hall of Fame in 2018. Wasim Malik has been nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 by DRI (Disaster Recovery International). Wasim is currently serving as a Director on the BCI Global Board, where he is responsible for the approval of BCI strategy and policy, and providing oversight of business plans, priorities, and budgets. He is also accountable for ensuring the BCI operates in the interests of the organization, considering the interests of Members and the profession.

  • Shaun Allingham MBCI

    Shaun Allingham has over 25 years’ experience in crisis management, business continuity and IT and Operational Risk in both consulting and management roles. He started his career with PwC in 1997 in risk management and business continuity consulting before moving to BT Financial Group and Westpac as their business continuity, IT Risk and crisis management manager. Shaun led the development and execution of all crisis management business continuity strategies across BT Financial Group and Westpac BTSS (back office). He then moved back to consulting and has been a senior consultant with Fulcrum Risk Services since 2014. Shaun has significant expertise in the development and exercising of crisis management and business continuity capabilities. Most recently, he has been working with a major university to develop business continuity capability across all colleges and portfolio groups, including business impact analyses, business continuity plans and business continuity exercises. Shaun has a particular interest in helping clients to develop practical and fit-for-purpose business continuity solutions that add value to the organisation. Shaun has a bachelor of commerce from UNSW in Accounting and Information Systems and a graduate diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA) from Chartered Accountants Australia. Shaun is a statutory member of the Business Continuity Institute and holds the membership status of MBCI. He is on the Leadership Committee for the BCI Australasian Chapter. He previously held the roles of Australasian Board Director, Treasurer and Chapter Leader.
