The presenter's view is that organizations are sleepwalking towards disaster by failing to recognise the rapid change in the threat profile caused by cyber-attacks, IT failures, and third-party failures.

These changes have heightened the risk of events that could result in the loss of IT systems and communications channels. Consequently, organisations may find themselves unable to communicate crisis messaging to interested parties. For some time, the focus of crisis communications has been on the quality of content; however, what organisations have overlooked is that without controlling a channel to communicate with all interested parties, the quality of the message becomes irrelevant.

Effective crisis communication to all interested parties serves as the overarching protection for the organisation during a crisis. It is inconsequential how much is spent on business continuity plans, resilience strategies, or insurance policies; if there is no opportunity to share appropriate crisis communications in a timely manner to mitigate reputational damage, the end result could be as detrimental as having no plans in place at all.

We look forward to welcoming you!
