What motivated you to become a BCI Corporate Sponsor?
At Risk Professionals, we have long recognised the BCI as the global benchmark for excellence in business continuity and organizational resilience. Our decision to become a BCI Corporate Sponsor is rooted in both institutional alignment and personal commitment. Our Founder and CEO, Wasim Malik, has been a proud BCI member for over 20 years. Over the past two decades, he has contributed extensively to the Institute; serving as a judge for the BCI Awards, an assessor for professional membership, a member of think tank and working groups, and ultimately as a Director on the BCI Global Board.
This sponsorship is a continuation of that journey; a way to give back to the resilience community and support the growth of best practices globally. It reflects our belief that strong collaboration between industry, practitioners, and institutions like the BCI is essential to building future-ready, disruption-resilient organizations. Through this sponsorship, we aim to amplify our contribution to the field, support professionals in their development, and drive meaningful dialogue around resilience, governance, and innovation.
Can you share some of the values and goals of your organization?
At Risk Professionals, our core values are integrity, impact, and innovation. We are driven by a mission to build trust and resilience in an increasingly complex world. Our work is grounded in international standards, but we go beyond compliance to deliver practical, scalable, and forward-looking solutions tailored to each client’s context.
We believe in empowering organisations through knowledge and capability building; not just delivering frameworks, but ensuring our clients understand, own, and sustain them. Whether it’s guiding a financial institution through ISO 22301 and ISO/IEC27001 certification, implementing ISO/IEC 42001 for responsible AI governance, or training the next generation of resilience leaders, we remain committed to excellence, ethics, and outcomes.
Our goal is to be a long-term partner to our clients, helping them navigate uncertainty, meet regulatory demands, and build operational resilience that lasts. We are also deeply committed to giving back to the professional community through thought leadership, training, and collaboration; values that align closely with the ethos of the BCI.
How does your organization’s mission align with the BCI?
Risk Professionals shares a common vision with the BCI, to elevate resilience from an operational necessity to a strategic imperative. Our mission to embed resilience, governance, and ethical decision-making into organizational frameworks directly complements the BCI’s global efforts to standardise, professionalise, and promote best practices in business continuity and organizational resilience.
Just as the BCI empowers professionals through certification and community, we empower organizations through training, consulting, and ongoing support, with a focus on practical implementation and continuous improvement. Our work in advancing standards like ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001, and ISO/IEC 42001, as well as our emphasis on ESG and responsible AI, reflects the BCI’s forward-looking approach to resilience in a digital and interconnected world.
Through our partnership with the BCI, we aim to amplify this shared mission, creating stronger networks, building professional capabilities, and enabling organisations to proactively prepare for and respond to disruption.
What do you hope to achieve through BCI Corporate Sponsorship?
Through our BCI Corporate Sponsorship, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the global resilience community by sharing expertise, supporting capacity building, and promoting innovation across emerging domains such as AI governance, ESG-aligned continuity, and integrated risk management.
We see this sponsorship as a platform to engage with practitioners, leaders, and policymakers to foster dialogue, exchange ideas, and address the evolving nature of risk and disruption. Our goal is to support the development of future-ready professionals and help shape best practices that are practical, inclusive, and globally relevant.
Can you share a success story that your company is particularly proud of?
We take pride in several strategic achievements that demonstrate the depth of our expertise and our growing global impact. One key success was guiding a major government agency through the successful implementation and certification of ISO/IEC 27001. This involved leading business impact assessments, risk evaluations, and continuity planning, while engaging stakeholders across departments to build a culture of resilience and ensure regulatory compliance.
In the area of AI governance, we recently completed a certification audit of ISO/IEC 42001 and separately led a full-scale implementation for a technology firm in Australia. Our work covered everything from AI risk registers and ethical use policies to conformity assessments and technical documentation aligned with ISO/IEC 42001 and the EU AI Act. This has laid a solid foundation for the responsible and transparent use of AI within the organization.
Risk Professionals has also delivered ISO training to professionals and enterprises around the world, including ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001, and DORA. Our blended delivery approach — combining instructor-led and self-paced learning — enables us to support capacity-building at scale across sectors.
In addition, we have developed robust implementation toolkits and document templates for ISO 22301, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 9001, and ISO/IEC 42001. These resources are helping organizations accelerate adoption, maintain compliance, and operationalise resilience frameworks with confidence.
