Are You Ready for the Next Power Outage?

The BCI London Chapter is proud to present our first webinar of the year: Power Outage Preparedness: Key Lessons from Recent Outages. In 2025, power disruptions have already made headlines, most notably the London Heathrow outage on March 21st, which caused widespread chaos and highlighted critical vulnerabilities. With power outages becoming more frequent and impactful, this webinar will dive into key lessons learned from significant events and provide actionable strategies to strengthen organisational resilience. Our expert speakers, representing a range of organisations (to be revealed soon!), will share practical insights, case studies, and actionable takeaways to help you to better prepare for and respond to power disruptions.

Join us virtually on 1st October 2025, from 12:30pm to 2pm BST, for this dynamic and thought-provoking session.

Stay tuned for the full agenda and speaker line-up, which will be announced shortly. We look forward to welcoming you virtually!

  • Natasha South

Head of Business Resilience, British Airways

I’m Natasha South, Head of Business Resilience at British Airways and a member of our Global Operations Leadership Team. I lead the strategic direction and delivery of our corporate response capabilities, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer and Chief Safety and Security Officer. My remit includes Emergency Response, Contingency Planning, Business Continuity, and IT Disaster Recovery, and I serve as a designated Crisis Management Team Leader and a member of the British Airways Corporate Cyber Board.

I chair the British Airways Contingency Planning Group and have led our response to a wide range of major events—from Operation London Bridge and the war in the Middle East to industrial action and environmental protest campaigns.

Since stepping into this role, I’ve driven significant transformation across our Business Resilience function, including a departmental restructure, the launch of three new apps, a new manuals framework, and the implementation of a new Crisis Management System. I’m passionate about leading through complexity and building high-performing teams that thrive under pressure.

My career has spanned a diverse range of roles—from Flight Operations and Air Traffic Management to Customer Service and Employee Strategy. I’ve led industrial negotiations, supported the launch of BA Euro Flyer, and played a key role in our Covid-19 contingency planning. I’ve also managed large operational teams at Heathrow and Gatwick.

I’m passionate about resilience, leadership, and creating cultures that can adapt, respond, and grow through challenge. I strive to be a strong role model and an agile leader, and I look forward to sharing insights from my journey with you.
